Guitarist Yves BROUQUI started working in Paris, France for ten years before
moving to New York in 1994.
Professional since 1986 he meets Jacques PELZER, Steve GROSSMAN, Albi
CULLAZ who help him developing his playing in the Parisians Jazz Clubs such as
DUC DES LOMBARDS, SUNSET and PETIT OPPORTUN.
He works with French and American jazz musicians, based in Paris, including Alain
JEAN-MARIE, Luigi TRUSSARDI, Olivier HUTMAN, Steve POTTS, Oliver JOHNSON
George BROWN and Emmanuel BEX.
As a sideman, he works in numerous bands (Emmanuel BEX’s BEXTET, Simon
GOUBERT’s Sextet, Steve POTTS Quartet, Georges BROWN TRIO…) in France,
Europe, and South America.
He moves to NEW YORK in 1994, meets the jazz scene through a club: “SMALLS
JAZZ CLUB” where he is heard by Peter BERNSTEIN, Joe MAGNARELLI, Sam
YAHEL…
He works and records (Three CDs, radio broadcast FRANCE MUSIQUE, TV for
WARNER CABLE with Bob MOVER..) with Grant STEWART, Michael WILNER, Mike
LE DONNE, Jim ROTUNDI, Bobby DURHAM, Joe STASSER, Mark TAYLOR, Sam
YAHEL, Brian FLOODY, Tony LEONE, Rob BARGAD, Sylvia CUENCA, Charles
RUGGIERO, Eric ALEXANDER, Joe FARNSWORTH, Joe COHN, Joel FORBES,
Dan CONVERSE, Frank AMSALEM, Joe MARTIN, Neil MINOR, Barak MORI, Peter
ZACK, Mike KARN, John WEBER, Paul GILL, Dennis CHARLES, Mike CLARKE,
some occasionally and some regularly.
Back in France in 2001 Yves BROUQUI works in numerous Jazz Festivals (FOIX,
CALVI, NEUVILLE, MONTLOUIS, DINANT, LIEGE, JVC, PARIS, MARCIAC...) and
leads his own bands (Alain JEAN-MARIE, Luigi TRUSSARDI, Pierre BOUSSAGUET,
Gilles NATUREL, Olivier HUTMAN…)
He keeps contact with the New York jazz scene and records a new CD (ELABETH
REC.) in 2005 with Grant STEWART and Joe MAGNARELLI: “MADE IN FRANCE”.
Since 2006, Yves Brouqui has been working with DUC des LOMBARDS house band,
singers Elisabeth KONTOMANOU and Bob DOROUGH, played concerts in Paris
with Peter BERNSTEIN, toured with New-York based altoist Dmitry BAEVSKY.
In june 2011, he is releasing  “THE MUSIC OF HORACE SILVER” featuring New-York 
drummer Joe STRASSER for ELABETH Records.
He works mostly as a sideman with french, european and american jazz musicians 
(Fabien MARY, David SAUZAY, Joe MAGNARELLI, Luigi GRASSO, Dmitry BAEVSKY, Jimmy OWENS...), 
keep promoting his own projects and record another CD in trio with Joe STRASSER in 2016.
In 2020 he integrates the band of violin gypsy virtuoso Florin NICULESCU with whom he's still 
working along with french jazz guitar icon Christian ESCOUDE, and plays big festivals such as 
MARCIAC JAZZ FEST.
In march 2024 he records his 6th CD as a leader with a new york rhythm section 
(Spike WILNER, Paul GILL, Anthony PINCIOTTI)
